There you can gain a whole new appreciation for California's native wildlife and enjoy some of the best burgers and fries you'll ever eat in the main town of Avalon.
Back on the mainland, of course you'll find many beaches, one being Doheny State Beach, known for its ample swimming and surfing opportunities. Tide pools, camping, and barbeques are all popular pastimes in Dana Point and they can all be accomplished at Doheny State Beach and Salt Creek Beach Park, local favorites for parties, days out, and outdoor recreation.
